I suffer from BIID (referred to as BDD in the video), I thought it was a very good video in terms of raising awareness but you must be aware that BIID sufferers aren’t just amputee wannabes. I myself feel I’m meant to be a T12 complete paraplegic. I’ve been treated for depression, I’ve tried all sorts of things to make this problem go away but the pain simply intensifies. The unfortunate thing is that although doctors considered elective amputations there is no way they would consider elective spinal cord transections. I am fully aware of the health risks and complications involved in having an SCI, but these problems are miniscule compared to the emotional pain I go through on a daily basis. Based on their stories, this appears to be much deeper than something that can be “triggered” by environmental stimuli.

Very interesting and kind of scary. After watching this it make one wonder if watching this would actually trigger dysmorphia in the watcher. Richard, this was yucky yet fascinating at the same time. I feel bad for the people who are afflicted with this.

On another note, the video of you looked a lot different. Is that your VX2000 not having to work in macro mode. There was something about that shot that was different — in a good way.

but i wondere since this illness is based on some sort of obssession, could one nopt try to say one has an antidot that the paishent takees since if it is mental then as we all know when we belive somthing like that a drink stops u falling in love eaven if its only orange juse that if we realy belive it could one not try some sort of thing like that?
