Another alternative is Quicktime broadcaster which is a free download from apple.You can record straight to disk with you're isight,no need to use imovie.

QT Broadcaster is fairly buggy ! and the software hasn't been updated for awhile, apparently it's getting revamped around the time of the H.264 codec launch.
